For younger children, this is a brilliant debut picture book by an award-winning illustrator by David Barrow. A little boy and a "very" large elephant play a game of hide and seek. The elephant warns the boy that he is very good at hiding, so watch out. The pictures show that the elephant really is good at hiding. (You must check out the illustrations to understand what I mean!) The colorful and faded illustrations soften the story. There is a surprise in the end. ;)
This is a surprisingly thoughtful book. Our Takeaways: We are ignorant of our own flaws. We ignore the flaws of our really good friends. Compared to others, sometimes we think our flaws are small.
